QUT’s Professor Bartlett and Sheryl Batchelor present at the Future Ways of Thinking conference. Professor Bartlett and Ms Batchelor cover the transition from the industrial to the knowledge economy and demonstrate the growing importance of emotional and social skills.
Scientists now understand humans have the capacity to change our brains forever. Professor Selena Bartlett from QUT explains how you can take deliberate action to develop a growth mindset that helps develop key business skills such as decision making, coping with stress, and innovation and creativity.
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. We use a body mass index (BMI) to measure our body’s fitness but why don’t we use a brain vitality index (BVI) to measure the health of our brain? Neuroscientist Professor Selena Bartlett examines how we can prevent brain aging and teach our brain positive lessons.
Professor Selena Bartlett is a Group Leader in Addiction Neuroscience and Obesity at the Translational Research Institute at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation and a Research Capacity Building Professor in the School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health, QUT. In 2013, she won the Outstanding Achievement Award and Biotech Research Award and is an Ambassador for the Women in Technology organization. She is passionate about the brain and helping people rewire their brains to unlock habits learnt over a lifetime that are holding them back from reaching their potential. She will discuss Brain Unlocked-how to reach your potential using tools from the latest research in neuroscience.
